Places, people, moments in time, there is a world of music just waiting to be captured. Describing life and its intoxicating rhythms. Immerse yourself in the multicultural mix that stimulates both the heart and soul. As an assertive effort to amass a body of work, I have produced a sonic landscape you can paint what is seen by the ear.
As a writer I must base each creation on feelings and experiences combining that with a variety of musical genres that include blues, funk, ballads and rock. A bevy of talented artist to showcase the melodic arrangements, rich rolling vocals, layered percussive elements and the interconnection of all the effort that make up my self-released album "Body & Sin".
Solo guitar and piano arrangements were mapped out to accommodate the hypnotic vocal melodies, soaring leads and production ideas that spotlighted this compilation of songs. From the brassy horn section to the solid rhythm ensemble. Cuts like, "Body & Sin", "Come Together", and "My Very Soul" and tend to draw your imagination to a new sound. Songs like "Made the News" and "Island Stumble" are an eclectic view of a worldly pulse that digest like sweet emotions.
Adding to this mix of styles are ballads like "Never", "Yes It's Love", and "Tell Me" that swoon with inculpating piano work, along with the distinct lead guitar licks through "It would Be Tonight", and "Dance Dance" that has a musically fruitful taste for anyone's palette.
I am currently enjoying a sabbatical to concentrate on writing and composing a third CD.

Thanks to . . .
Bill Rhodes
Recording Engineer, Producer
An accomplished pianist and electronic composer with credits including 30 albums from "1978" to present. His broadcast and film credits include the Lillehamer Olympics Theme for European Broadcast and various projects on German Independent Cable. He holds a masters degree in musical composition and was a Professor of Music at Monmouth University, N.J. from "88" to "99".
Bill is currently performing nationally and in South Florida. He is also employed as a freelance product specialist in the electronic music industry and has just completed the producing of the C.D. project "Body & Sin". Bill's musical works are available on MP3.com or C.D. Baby.com.
I thank Bill, an all around talent from performing live, to composing or producing. His presence on this project has dressed an upscale production that is strongly individualistic. It's great to work with a producer that stimulates so much creativity from everyone. This has been a very positive experience.
Geoff Livingston:
Bass, Vocals, Photograghy
Originating from Rockland County, N.Y., Geoff toured with "Decadence" settling in Florida in the mid 80's. I was one of the 1st musicians he hooked up with in Florida. Eventually, performing bass guitar for "1-800", the band comprised the core players for "Body & Sin". Freelancing his skills as a photographer, Geoff has entered into this professional field and has proven his photo journalist abilities. He is currently performing with "Night Train" a popular attraction of Palm Beach County. Deadrock@aol.com
Geoff also produced my music video "Island Stumble" off of the C.D. "Body and Sin" with the help of Jennifer Beh.
Many thanks to Geoff. Not only has he got an insight view for the bass rhythm on the "Body and Sin" CD, but has become a great photographer in the professional arena as well. He has added this talent to the project also. A great performer in any situation.
Ed Schaeferle
Percussionist
Drummer Ed Schaeferle has been playing since before birth, which must have made for a rocking gestation period. Post partum, he began on a kit comprised of Quaker Oats boxes. As Ed puts it, "Vintage kits like that are rare, they weren't too durable, but I believe the dry focused tone they produced was a precursor to the muffled studio sounds of the seventies, and even today's drum and bass beats". After acquiring a real kit, Ed played in the standard local bands and continues to gig around South Florida. For this project, Ed played a Slingerland kit with a Ludwig Bronze snare and Zildjan cymbals.
I thank this charismatic drummer with a taste for decidedly non traditional rhythms. Ed made the backbone using all his talents with percussion on my both of my CD's "Tango Me" and "Body and Sin". He has always presented his best effort.
Johnny "Bee" Beers
Key Boards, Vocals
, Harmony
Johnny "Bee Beers"
Keyboards
My friend, keyboard player extraordinaire, Johnny Bee, proved to be one of
the main ingredients on the Body and Sin project. Johnny's skillful playing
and careful choice of sound settings, e.g., organ, choir, clavinet, synth,
added special textures to all of the songs on my latest album.
"Yes It's Love" was performed by Johnny acoustically at the studio on the
Steinway Grand Piano. All other songs were played by the Bee on his
great sounding KAWAI K5000W Digital Synthesizer. (This additive synth is one of the many brainchild CO-inventions of our Producer Bill Rhodes.) Johnny was invaluable in consulting with Bill and I during the final mixdown at Echo
Beach Studios.
After a 3- year run playing keys at the Sheraton Singer Island followed
by a year playing six nights a week at the Dockside Restaurant in Stuart,
Johnny Bee is currently performing in South Florida.
Johnny is taking over his family business in Palm Beach, Fleur-de-Lis Antiques and he has a great interest in, you guessed it, antique musical instruments!
Look for Johnny Bee on my future projects and as a frequent guest performer
at my poolside gigs on Singer Island!
I would like to thank John for the meticulous keyboard and arrangement work on my debut CD (Tango Me) as well as the new CD project (Body & Sin). I can always depend on John to help make it successful. I depend on his enthusiasm in the studio and on a live stage. John is always bringing new ideas to the audio table.
John
Smotherman
:
Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar
John was raised in the small town of Manchester, Tennessee. He began playing drums at age 8. With his brothers performing guitar, he was introduced to and developed a love and understanding for the 6 string instrument. Attending the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, he graduated with an Honors Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Homing his skills on styles like Hendricks, Clapton, Beck, Santana and Stevee Ray Vaughn. In the late 80's, John was also a part of the band "1-800" that lived up to the slogan "reach out and rock someone!"
In the early "90's", John was recruited by the "Jes Richmond Band". After cutting a C.D. of their own they went on to open for music greats like 38 Special and Jackson Brown. Because of his education in the recording area, he was able to lay down extravagant and layered tracks on Body & Sin. He picked his favorite guitar on all tracks, the 65 strat affectionately named "Candi".
Since the first light of this CD project I had hoped to recruit John on it. His galvanizing presence never ceases to amaze me. His assertive melodic style sets him apart from his contemporaries, immersing himself into this compilation of songs and creating a constant melodic flow. My appreciation goes out to him for all his help.
Eric Zimmerman:
Saxaphone
A player of sax and flute, Eric has performed many years perfecting his style. Finishing tracks on the C.D. "Body & Sin" ,and currently is blowing sax for the Palm Beach based band "Night Train".
I am so thrilled to have sax on the "Body and Sin" project. Eric has a way of talking with his sax that seems to mesmerize those listening. A great addition to this project.
Eric Ness:
Steel Drums, Trumpet
A native of South Florida, Eric has performed in the Palm Beaches for over 25 years. A player of multiple instruments, Eric has just recently completed his parts on Body & Sin, Recording tracks of steel drums and trumpet. Eric is currently performing with "Night Train" of the Palm Beaches.
Eric applied himself on the horn arrangements and played trumpet throughout the "Body and Sin" CD. He also played steel drums on the island tunes to give that authentic Caribbean style. Ari mon!
Echo Beach of South Florida:
My thanks to all involved on this CD including: Steve Smodish, Matt Anderson, Ryan Dockery, Mandy Pifer and Chas Payson. A fantastic studio to be as creative as one possibly can. A great staff and well talented sound engineers. Thanks for Everything!
Photography:

I thank Geoff and Jennifer for all the production work that they have put towards the music video "Island Stumble". A very exciting project!
